Data Privacy Policy

The protection of your personal data is important to me. This privacy policy explains what data is collected when you visit this website, how it is used, and what rights you have as a data subject. This policy complies with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP, revised version in force since 1 September 2023) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The website is operated in Switzerland (DATAROCK data centre in Nottwil (canton of Lucerne, Switzerland)). Operating the website and the contact form does not send personal data abroad.

2. Data Collected Automatically

When you visit this website, the web server automatically records certain technical information in log files, including:

  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system
  • Referring URL (previously visited page)
  • Hostname of the accessing device
  • Date and time of the server request
  • IP address

This data is used solely for the technical operation and security of the website. It is not combined with other data sources. It cannot be tied directly to a specific person and is only reviewed in the event of technical faults or security incidents.

This website is hosted by hosttech GmbH, Seestrasse 15a, 8805 Richterswil, in the DATAROCK data centre in Nottwil (canton of Lucerne, Switzerland). The provider's privacy policy is available at hosttech.ch/datenschutz.

Legal basis: legitimate interest in the secure operation of the website (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR).

3. Data from Contact Enquiries

When you contact me through the contact form or by email, I use the information you give me to handle your enquiry. The contact form asks for:

  • Your first name (required)
  • Your last name (required)
  • Your email address (required)
  • Your phone number (optional)
  • Your subject, a choice of topic (required)
  • “How did you find me?” (optional)
  • Your message (optional)

To send the form, you must tick the box that gives your consent to this privacy policy.

When you send the form, these details go to a small PHP script (formular.php) on the same web hosting that serves this website. No third-party form service is involved. The script sends the details to me by email. No copy is sent to you. Your message is not stored on the server, it only reaches me by email.

A field that people do not see helps against spam. Anyone who fills it in is treated as a bot, and the enquiry is not forwarded.

To prevent misuse of the form, the server limits how many requests one connection may send within a time window. For this it stores only a hash of the IP address with a timestamp in a counter file. The IP address itself is not stored.

Legal basis: performance of pre-contractual measures at your request (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR), or legitimate interest in answering enquiries properly (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR). Under the FADP, the processing is justified by your enquiry.

4. Cookies

This website sets no cookies. There is no analytics tool, no tracking and no advertising. For that reason, no cookie banner is needed.

5. Fonts

This website uses the typeface Arial and, as a fallback, the typeface Arimo for a consistent visual appearance. The font files are part of this website and are delivered from it. Your browser does not connect to Google or any other font service for them.

6. External Links

This website contains links to Facebook and to other websites. When you click a link, you are taken to the provider's page, where its own data privacy policy applies.

Facebook is linked only and not embedded. Simply visiting this website therefore transmits no data to Facebook.

7. Virtual 360° Tours

Some pages show virtual 360° tours. First you see a preview image with a play button. Only when you click it does your browser load the tour from clemensguedel.ch into a frame on this page. Your browser then transmits technical details such as your IP address and browser type to clemensguedel.ch. Before you click, no connection is made.

The link for full-screen viewing opens the tour directly on clemensguedel.ch.

8. Data Retention

Personal data is retained only as long as necessary for the respective processing purpose or as required by law. Data from contact enquiries is deleted once the correspondence is complete and any statutory retention periods have expired. This includes the emails in my inbox.

9. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right to access the personal data held about you
  • Right to rectification of inaccurate data
  • Right to erasure of your data
  • Right to restriction of processing
  • Right to data portability
  • Right to object to processing

To exercise any of these rights, write to me at info@clemensguedel.ch. I normally respond within 30 days (Art. 25 para. 7 FADP).

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. In Switzerland, this is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC, edoeb.admin.ch).

10. Changes to this Policy

I may update this privacy policy at any time, for example when the legal situation or my services change. The current version published on this website always applies.
